Máncora is a small beach town in the North of Peru where most travellers tend to stay longer than planned. I am one of those travellers and ended up staying in Máncora for two months instead of one week! Okay, to be fair, I had already booked one month in neighbouring town Los Organos and visited Máncora regularly during that time and then came back to spend another month in Máncora.
In that time, I have eaten at nearly every restaurant and sat in many cafes, so here are my six favourite cafes in Máncora - including my digital nomad rating.
In this post, you will also learn where to buy sourdough bread, organic dark chocolate, environmentally friendly sunscreen and tootbrushes etcetera, and fruits and green vegetables other than lettuce.
If you want to know about where to eat in Máncora, I made a similar post but for restaurants!

1. Palmeras Eco Tienda y Café in Máncora
🗺️ Location: Jr. Industrial, Máncora
⏰ Hours: daily from 9am - 5pm, closed on Sundays and Mondays
💻 Digital Nomad Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔌 Wi-Fi: Fast
🔋 Outlets: Few because most tables are outsides
🪑 Vibe: Friendly, cosy and quiet
🌱 Bonus: The best coffee in Máncora, Peru!
Why I loved it: Palmeras by far serves the best coffee in Máncora - approved even by Australians, who are very strict on their coffee quality. They have delicious smoothie bowls (that are incredibly filling), including a good açaí bowl. The owners are Peruvian and Dutch and they sell various homemade and ecological products, including 100% peanut butter and cacao nibs, and wooden toothbrush and cotton earbuds.

2. Kdulce Coffee in Máncora
🗺️ Location: [Address or neighborhood]
⏰ Hours: 3pm to 10pm/12am
💻 Digital Nomad Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔌 Wi-Fi: Good
🔋 Outlets: Some
🪑 Vibe: Trendy and friendly
🌱 Bonus: [Great vegan options / Gorgeous courtyard / Rooftop view]
Why I loved it: Recognizable by its Starbucks-inspired logo, Kdulce has the absolute best brownie in town - and believe when I say that I have tried nearly all of them. It is a pecan brownie, optionally served with vanilla ice cream. They have a delicious breakfast menus, with for example fantastic pancakes, but somehow often only open at 15h. They are sometimes open until after midnight though, so for late night cravings you can surely go here. Their coffee is not amazing, but if you like iced coffees and frappes this is the place to be. The owners are super friendly. For working, their tables are not great but there is one higher table that is nice.

3. Café con Mar in Máncora
🗺️ Location: Del Wawa, segundo piso (second floor), Máncora, the upstairs area in the hotel next to Surfschool La Puenta
⏰ Hours: 9am to 7pm, closed on Wednesdays
💻 Digital Nomad Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔌 Wi-Fi: I don't know
🔋 Outlets: None to my knowledge
🪑 Vibe: Quiet and beachy
🌱 Bonus: In the shade but great views over the surfspot and sunset.
Why I loved it: A little tricky to find as it first seemed like it is part of a hotel, but it is not. The upstairs area in the hotel next to La Puenta surfschool is a separate cafe where they served the second-best brownie I have tried in Máncora - but do ask them to heat it up well, so that it starts to get a little melty. They also have amazing smoothie bowls and perhaps the best thing about this place is that it is right at the beach and you will have a good view over Máncora's surfspot Punta Ballenas. For digital nomads, this is one of the more dreamy digital nomad places, but not so practical in terms of plugs.
4. Black Sheep Cafe
🗺️ Location: Avenida Piura 525, Máncora
⏰ Hours: [Opening hours]
💻 Digital Nomad Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔌 Wi-Fi: I don't know
🔋 Outlets: Some
🪑 Vibe: Colourful
🌱 Bonus: THREE different vegan burger options and all delicious.
Why I loved it: This place is super vegan-friendly - they even have three vegan burger options, the best vegan burgers in Máncora in my opinion - and affordable too. They have a breakfast menu that is available the whole day. For working, I find this place too colourful and the busy street outside too distracting for deep work, but the tables are nice.
5. La Biodega Cafe
🗺️ Location: [Address or neighborhood]
⏰ Hours: [Opening hours]
💻 Digital Nomad Rating: [⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5]
🔌 Wi-Fi: [Fast / OK / Spotty]
🔋 Outlets: [Plenty / Some / None]
🪑 Vibe: [Quiet / Bustling / Trendy / Cozy]
🌱 Bonus: [Great vegan options / Gorgeous courtyard / Rooftop view]
Why I loved it: [Short personal note — e.g., The cappuccino was perfection, and I stayed here for hours without feeling weird about it.]
